Lisa Beth Curcuru was a beautiful 21 year old girl who loved art. She had been attending the Maine College of Art, in Portland Maine, which was a financial hardship for her. On July 24, 2003, she was killed in an alcohol related auto accident; just 3 short weeks after her 21st birthday. In her memory, we wanted to start a scholarship for a Gloucester High School art student with financial need, who wanted to pursue his or her dream of studying art, and at the same time, keep Lisa’s memory alive and remind people of the terrible consequences of drinking and driving.
Lisa was a loving, giving person who would be pleased to think something positive was happening in her memory. If you have memories of Lisa that you would like to share on this site, or comments that you would like to post to the various images and other media, please feel free to do so. Please be respectful, as spam and negative comments will not be tolerated. If you would like to contribute financially to the scholarship fund, you may do so here. Every dollar earned helps an art student save.
